Jamaica - July 2014

Okay, summer in Ontario was pretty disappointing last year, (and I am really sorry I am so late getting this to you,) so we decided to get away for a quick 4 nights in Jamaica. We stayed at the Royal Decameron on Runaway Bay. It was very nice.

There were ample beach chairs with shade.

The grounds were meticulously maintained.

Fresh fruit was available in the buffet.

The dining area was lovely, with indoor and outdoor covered seating.

The grounds were well decorated.

Each cabin had lizards on shift schedules.

The sand did get really hot during the day, so beach shoes are a good thing to bring.

This bar was great, it was surrounded by swing seats. The deck around it had Muskoka chairs and sun beds.

It did rain rather violently one day, but it didn't last long.

The nights were warm and beautiful

This is the quiet pool, and it was. Notice the availability of pool loungers.

The a la carte restaurant was wonderful, with delicious food and excellent service. Also, you could dine outside under the stars.

There were grounds maps posted at strategic locations.

A better view of the swing chair bar.

The water is full of life.

And the last thing we saw was the lobby, while we were waiting for the bus back to the airport.

We liked this resort.  It wasn't deluxe, but it was nice and reasonably priced, with very friendly staff and huge "rooms" (actually individual cabins).
